Serena Williams, born on September 26, 1981, is an American professional tennis player. The Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) ranked her world No. 1 in singles in the period between 2002 and 2017. Once, she held the ranking for 186 consecutive weeks.
Serena Williams won the most Grand Slam titles in singles, doubles, and mixed doubles combined among active players. She won 39 major titles.
Williams holds 23 Grand Slam singles titles, which makes her second player in the history of female players with numbers of titles, after Margaret Court (24).
Serena also holds the all-time record for the most women’s singles matches won at majors with 325 matches. Serena Williams has won 14 Grand Slam doubles titles, all with her sister Venus Williams.
Williams has also won four Olympic gold medals. She has been also the highest paid female athlete in 2016 and in 2017 when she was the only woman on Forbes’ list of the 100 highest paid athletes with $27 million in prize money and endorsements.

Serena Williams announced her engagement to Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian on December 2016. They got married on November 16, 2017.
On September 1, 2017, Williams gave birth to a daughter, named Alexis Olympia Ohanian. Williams had a health issue during giving a birth to her daughter.
