Marshall Bruce Mathers III know as Eminem, was born on October 17, 1972. He is an American rapper, songwriter, record producer, record executive, and actor.
Eminem is the best-selling artist of the 2000s in the United States. Throughout his career, he has had 10 number-one albums on the Billboard 200 and five number-one singles on the Billboard Hot 100.
Eminem has more than 47.4 million albums and 107.5 million singles sold in the U.S.A. and 220 million records globally, and because of that, he is among the world’s best-selling artists of all time.
His debut album Infinite was released in 1996 and then Slim Shady EP in 1997. After that, Eminem signed with Dr. Dre’s Aftermath Entertainment and achieved great popularity in 1999 with The Slim Shady LP. This success made him win his first Grammy Award for Best Rap Album.
In 2000 he released The Marshall Mathers LP and in 2002 he released The Eminem Show. Both albums were diamond in U.S. sales and both winning Best Rap Album Grammy Awards. The new album Encore came out in 2004 and then releases Relapse in 2009 and Recovery in 2010. This album won Grammy Awards.
Eminem’s eighth album, The Marshall Mathers LP 2, was released in 2013, and this album won two Grammy Awards. In 2017, Eminem released his ninth studio album, Revival.
Eminem is a member of the Midwest hip-hop groups Soul Intent and D12. In 2002, he starred in the hip-hop film 8 Mile, which won the Academy Award for Best Original Song for “Lose Yourself“, becoming the first rap artist to ever win the award. Eminem started also in the movies The Wash (2001), Funny People (2009), and The Interview (2014), and the television series Entourage (2010).
The private life of the star
Eminem was married twice to his high school love, Kimberly Anne “Kim” Scott. Their daughter Hailie was born in December 1995. The two were married in 1999 and divorced in 2001, and again in January 2006, but they filed for divorce in early April, the same year. He also has custody of Kim’s daughter from another relationship. He had legal custody of his younger half-brother Nathan.
On June 3, 2000, Eminem was arrested during an altercation with Douglas Dail, when he pulled out an unloaded gun and pointed it at the ground. The next day, he was arrested again for assaulting John Guerrera when he saw him kissing his wife.
In 2003, the United States Secret Service reported that it was considering allegations that Eminem threatened at the time, President of USA, George W. Bush in “We As Americans“.
During the years of his reach carrier, Eminem was sued several times for all sorts of allegations, like stilling the music or unapproved mentioning of other people in his songs.
